Could you tell me, have anyone facing this type of error when starting system state backup on SQL server 2008 box?

Hello Ananda, I'm facing the same problem on a Windows 2008 R2 with SP1 x64.
There is a hotfix that you can find below
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2182466
but it is included on SP1.
I'm going to make a call to MS.
