Microsoft Data Platform MVP Glenn Berry demonstrates a set of eleven SQL Server Diagnostic Memory Queries that help you understand your memory usage in SQL Server. Memory usage in SQL Server is often poorly understood. These queries show you how to measure your memory usage to determine whether you are under internal or external memory pressure or both. They also help you understand which databases are using your memory and what indexes, queries and stored procedures are driving the memory usage. Finally, there are several queries in this set that help you find possible candidates for SQL Server data compression, which can be used to reduce your memory usage. These queries will work on SQL Server 2012 and newer. They will also work on SQL Managed Instance.
