SSL Security Error

  • Hello,

We are trying to connect to another SQL Server database (2012 build 11.0.7001) from SQL Server 2012 database with build 11.0.7507 using SQL Native client.

The database server we are trying to connect from does not have TLS 1.2 enabled whereas the database server we are trying to connect to has TLS 1.2 enabled (Build 11.0.7100).

When we enter connection details in SSIS and test the connection the following error is thrown.

"Test connection failed becuase of an error in initializing the provider [DNBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(SECDoClientHandshake()).]SSL Security Error.

I am thinking about two option to resolve the error.

    1. Upgrade the ODBC drivers on the server we are trying to connect from to version 13.1
    2. UPgrade the server we are trying to connect to to SQL Server build 11.0.7507. But this option is more time consuming due to various factors.

Please let me know if there is any other solution available to solve the error.

    Regards,

    Rohit Chitre
