isql /P Parameter & Environment variables

  • Can anyone please explain to me how this works.

I know it stores a password for ISQL to use but 'for the current session'?

    How long is that?

Also does anyone know where environment variables like these are stored ?

    Thanks in advance

  • I do not believe this is stored. The current session is as long as you are connected with isql. When you "quit" of disconnect, the password is not stored any longer, AFAIK.

  • Okies, thanks for that.

  • There is always the -E switch for a trusted connection.
