Internal connection fatal error. (System.Data)

    Hi,

    I am trying to expand my DB(DB size is 160 GB) after connecting to SQL Server 2008 named instance, I receive the internal connection fatal error.(system.Data)

    I have sql server 2008 client on windows server 2008 R2 with 16 GB od RAM.

    DBC checkdb came out clean and I do not see any error on expanding DB on Server or on my XP desktop.

    Is SSMS trying to open the DB, as this is a huge DB it is not able to cache and throws this exception or is some thing to do with windows 2008 certificates.

    Please let me know what might be the issue?

    I got the same problem. I'm moving my sql server on a different machine and see if still get the same error to eliminate hardware issue. I don't think it is the SQL server since if I run it from the ssms inside the server I don't get the error. It's either network/hardware related.
