Hi All,

I am unable to take back up off the data base.

when i run querry it shows 3 files are offline, remaining are in online.

Hoq do i get offline files to online.

All these files are full text catalogs.

can any one help me. It's very important. Please.....................!

when i am taking backup it shows .mdf file is not on-line, can u say how to bring .mdf file into on-line

I dont have full back up.
That is what my problem. When i want to take a backup it shows u r mdf file is not online.

You will have to backup up at a file level not a full backup. Take a look at books online.

If you were to restore from this then it would mark the same files as offline but you could still work. You have to do commands for the restore so do test this and keep them handy, if you aren't sure how.

If you had backups previously this would not be an issue!

Thanks for u r reply.

But one thing,
i have indevidual files backup like (.mdf file, .log).
And restore the databse based on that mdf and log files.
It working fine. no problem.
But only my concern is i wnat to take full backup and i need to take .mdf file in to online, these two are the important one.

They are offline and the data isn't there. I am not aware of a way to remove them. I always have backups so never encountered the issues.

The mdf is offline and please confirm ur database is in suspect mode(means database is not responding )
