Thanks for this very thorough article and I agree that it is very hard to find decent "coal face" articles like this about SSIS.
The SSIS technology is not my favorite part of SQL Server 2005 and part of me thinks that a sub-system like this may be easier to follow using a pure development programming environment like Java or C sharp but I suppose I am being an old fuddy duddy.
