Quite good !! Just as how filter is useful, so is the Clone method. But we have to remember to set the activeconnection to nothing and then clone the recordset else there will be umpteen problems

The recordset is SOOOO powerful, lots of cool features that are seldom used. May try to explore more of these. Was also thinking of trying to show "why" and "how" a recordset works.

May I ask what got you interested in reading all the ado articles at once?

I have recently been reading your articals on ADO and have found them very useful. I tried your sample code for myself, but I get an error when setting the activeConnection property to nothing.

"Operation is not allowed when the object is open"

Can you help me on this.

Regards,

Ben

Hi Andy,

Hopefully you are still watching this old list!

I happened to find your 4 ADO articles after quite a bit of fumbling getting SQL to work from VBScript. They are a great help.

Could you advise whether this will work against an Ingres database?

In hope,
Paul

In addition to my last reply, what changes do we need to make to get this working in VBScript.

Paul
