Hi,

Please help, I have encountered the error below while creating a linked server from SQL Server 2012 to connect to SQL Server 2000.

See error details below:

cannot initialize the data source object of OLE db provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "db\instance"
ole db provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "db\instance" returned message "login timeout expired",
ole db provider "SQLNCLI10" for linked server "db\instance" returned message "A netrwork-related or instance-specific error has occured while establishing a connection tp SQL server. etc...

Please suggest, thank you in advance.

Thanks and Godbless,
JosephS
