It's not the most recent name ;-)
When you try SQL Server 2014, you have to download SSDTBI yourself (although I expect this will be solved in another CTP release of SQL 2014).

For see SSDTBI, you need to install SQL Server 2014 CTP. Remember that you can not install SQL Server 2014 CTP with other SQL server instance, or side by side with other sql server instance. You install it with VM Ware (virtual machine).

I am still waiting next CTP release, which override this issue :-)

Thanks

Got it wrong, because 84% got it wrong too Smile
BIDS will stay among the folks, as shorter it is as easier to use.

However thank you!

So with SQL2012 it's called SSDT, but for SQL2014, which isn't out yet, it's called SSDTBI? Or is that over-simplifying ;-)

+1

Don't understand the logic of the insistance on renaming something that everyone is happy with - except maybe someone who is probably in marketing!!! This reminds me of the confuision behind "cubes" and "symantic layer" (well almost!!!)

How long before it is simply reverted back to BIDS???

Crazy

That's oversimplifying :-D SSDTBI (the one for Visual Studio 2012) can be downloaded seperately and be used for SQL Server 2012 as well.
