Customer has data from 2002 to current. However they want to give the personnel a focused Analytic db of 2009 to current.
They would like to restrict the access to data to certain years for certain users. For example certain sales managers they would like to have them focus on 2010, 2011 and 2012 sales and nothing before.
The date dimensions are set from 1960 - 2050 this is in order for the jobs to run to process the cubes
1.I did setup a Role to restrict the access for the user to Read Definition for the DB and restricted the dates in the Dimensions data. Now when trying to view the data in excel an error pops up saying DimensionPermission (1,2) The dimension (Date) was not found in the cube when the string, {Date}.{Calendar_The Year Hidden Attribute}. & [1900][was passed]. Is this because I have deselected the previous years. Is there some tables for instance the Hidden attribute that should not be deselected in able for the date dimensions to show the years that was restricted?
Any ideas will be much appreciated?

Still got this problem?
Try checking the dimension attribute security settings for the role. there may be explicit allow/deny for a attribute or Dim where the name has changed.
