Hmmm.. This is an obscure one. I need language support (i.e. c# & VB.NET) in Visual Studio 2005 but I only have the copy which is rolled in with SQL Server, called Premier Partner Edition, this comes installed with the BIDS development stuff but no actual programming languages.
I only need ASP.NET support, which I could easily get by installing Express Edition, but MSoft have changed all the downloads now to 2008. I have some third party dev templates which I need to work with so I need to stick with 2005.
Has anyone got any experience of updating the default BIDS Visual Studio? I've seen a lot of posts which just tell me to install Visual Studio 2005, so I guess the path of least resistance would be to buy a copy if I can find one, but surely it isn't rocket science to install additional language support? Microsoft admit there is an extensibility framework in Premier Partner but are a bit short on explaining how and where I can get hold of any extensions.
I've tried a couple of downloads which do exactly this but they rely on you having service pack 1 installed and the service pack downloads won't install on Premier Partner.
I suspect I'm just missing a search term, so if anyone even knows what it is exactly I'm looking for that would be extremely useful.
Anybody managed this? All I want to do is throw a few web forms together on my dev server....

The Premier partner edition that comes with SQL Server will not take any languages but if you want VWD then you could use the 2008 edition and use targeting which allows you to develop with 2005 features only. I hope targeting is not edition dependent but you need to check.
