Kerberos authentication

  • Hi,
I have installed SQL Server 2012 SP2 on Windows Server 2012. TCP/IP and SharedMemory protocols are enabled for Client protocol and I have also configured MSDTC settings. SPN is registered for both default port and for Named instance for the service account through which SQL service is running.
When checked, some logins are connecting through KERBEROS but some are through NTLM with TCP protocol only. Can you please let me know what settings I need to change to allow all the connections through KERBEROS.
    Waiting for your reply.

    Thanks &  Regards,
    Anand

  • Make sure they meet the qualifications for using Kerberos and if the problem persists, then run a Kerberos and NTLM trace to find out why it's defaulting to NTLM. You can find everything you need here: http://sqlsoldier.net/wp/sqlserver/advanced-troubleshooting-week-at-sql-university-lesson-3
