Hello all,
for our new datawarehouse I am trying to put together a hardware config. I understand this is not an easy task, but maybe with your recommendations and comments I know the setup is ok or not.
Our datawarehouse will consist of about 2TB of data, running on SQL2012, preferably Ent. Ed, on M$ cluster. From the M$ Best practices I have read the I/O reduces dramatically if mem can hold about 20% of data. So around 400Mb MEM per cluster node.
For performance reasons I prefer having SSAS on a separate server (same config as above).
I would use Windows 2012 Ent. Ed & SQL Ent. Edition. I don't see any plus on the datacenter editions.
Again, thanks for any input or learning points.
Rgds
