Need to shut down sql instances with out disturbing other instances...

  • As we have four instances in one physical server which is all are 2005 instances. In this one instance not able to shutdown propertly. But we need to shut down this instance without disturbing other three instances since these are production 24x7 critical servers. Please suggest any one...

  • Go into SQL configuration manager, right click that SQL service and select Stop.

  • As I have tried from all the options as configuration manager, command prompt and services.msc , but there is no chance to stop/shutdown the SQL. Can you please provide any other ways to stop the sql with out any distrubances to other instances.

    Thanks in advance....

  • What do you mean there's no chance? That's how you stop the SQL Server service, from there (preferably) or from services.
