  • Very nice HowTo article, Roy :smooooth:

It's this kind of short ToDo's that will get people started with testing the ResGov and exploring its purposes and usages.

    Thank your for sharing.

  • I totally agree with ALZDBA, your article makes me want to go play with the functionality; it's easy to understand for someone who doesn't know what the RG is, gives the problem, the steps needed, and the solution.

    Nice job!

  • Great article, thanks!

Now if we just had the Enterprise version on all the servers...

  • +1. I have so many applications for resource governor, one such use came to mind this morning, where we have a third party application which lets users run adhoc reports against various highways data without suitable validation. The result, a rogue user caused 100% CPU utilisation for a sustained period of time. If my employer had bought Entrerprise Edition we wouldn't have had to rely on education and trust and the user would still have use of their legs 😉

  • Fantastic article. Made me want to go look at it (just for the learning experience since we are a small place and don't suffer from load issues-- yet).

Unfortunaltely due to that we have the workgroup edition...

Oh how I cried at the things I was missing, most of all the profiler 🙁

For only a few pennies more.

  • First let me apologize for not responding yesterday. I was sick and was laid low in bed.

Thank you all for the compliments. I hope this will help in giving you all new ideas on how this functionality can be used.
