• its important that your current job title accurately reflects the nature of the work that you do and closely alligns with the titles used in the job market. Putting 'DBA' into a job search engine will return a lot of jobs, most of them not relevant to you. Putting 'SQL Server DBA' will, in my case, hit the spot and return what I'm after. No point calling yourself a 'SQL Data Tier Infrastructure Architect' when in fact you're a 'SQL Server DBA' - you'll limit your opportunities. My team has Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza, RDB, mySQL, DB2 and Sybase DBAs - we're all DBAs. I forget now the point I was trying to make ....!
