Extracting data from MS Exchange server for SSIS package

  I need to take data from an MS exchange server and place it into a SqlServer database. I can create the package once I get the data into a format I can use, such as a flat file, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this. Also, is there any way to accomplish the end result without placing the data into a flat file first?
