We are working on Win Xp ver 2 and SQL server 2005 SP2(9.0.3068). On some desktop machines, Sql Profiler is not working.
We have found that if we remove MS-Office 2000/2003 installation from those problem desktops, SQL Profiler starts working. But if MS-Office is installed again, the Profiler stops working giving error " SQL tracing tool has encountered a problem and need to be closed....". I have attached the error screen shot from one of the desktop also for reference.
We have even formatted the machine and tried a fresh installation but no success. Without installing MS Office 2000 or 2003 , profiler works.

Never seen this happen and I have office installed on all my PC's that I run Profiler from. Are there any errors in the event logs?

Hi,
Please check in the event viewer what is the error. I think you can find out what actually might be the reason.
Thanks
