Virtual Directory Install?

  I have run accross a sqlexpress install which is in a directory called program files (x86) which only shows in the managment console. It does not exist in the windows directory. Can someone please tell me how this was done and how to get direct access to the subdirectories below this program files (x86)?

  I have my answer. I was dealing with a 64 bit computer and did not know it.
