I have been tasked with ensuring that when my products dimension is changed ie.the data team either adds, edits or deletes data in the underlying rdms table (that the product dimension is made up of) the new changes is reflected in the cube without taking the cube offline. Its a priority that users must be able to keep quering the cube at all times and the updated product dimension changes must be reflected in the cube.
The fact table data is partitioned (MOLAP) while the dimension data is stored in a relational database. From my research iam assuming that 1st a Process Update will be done on the products dimension. Then the partition will have to be processed - will this be a Process incremental ? And in the process incremental wizard what is the Source table or query - is that my product dimension ?
If anyone can shed some light it would be much appreciated.
