I wonder if you could create a part two on running queries against databases with different collations using "Collate Database_Default" or other methods, tips etc.

A problem I am running into is this will not work on SQL7 so I must test server version first.

I have tried to avoid collation errors by clicking a check box CollationCompatible at LinkedServers/<ServerName>/Properties/ServerOptions but it does not seem to work.
