I was under the understanding that you can no longer query system tables. At a glance, I deemed sys.objects to be a system table. But now after doing further research, I have found it to be a view as this article indicates - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2006/01/ProtectMetaData/default.aspx.
