Position Overview:
The Senior Database Engineerprimarily responsible for the design, build out, performance and management ofthe data systems and technologies that drive Acadian’s investment researchprocess. As a member of the DatabaseOperations Team the Engineer will report to the manager of Database Operationsand will work with the DBA team to provide technical expertise and guidance tothe Investment Research Development staff.
Candidates must have deepexperience with relational database design and development on the SQL Serverplatform. A solid understanding of SQLServer internals and the ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions,propose resolutions and direct their implementation is essential. In addition to MS SQL administration thecandidate will play a critical role in evaluating, piloting and migrating toalternative data stores that may be more appropriate based on the latency,parallelization and isolation demands of a variety of critical use cases. Experience with cloud database technologies,primarily on AWS, preferred.
