    So I was thinking...

I'm interested in possibly learning more about BI.  What better way to teach myself than baseball statistical analysis and sabermetrics?

In fact, I started drafting a blog article in which I talk about this endeavor.

What do you folks think about this approach?  Thoughts?  Any resources I should check out?

If I do finish my blog article, I'll post a link in this forum!

As promised, here is my article.  Give it a read and tell me what you think!

Thanks for sharing, Ray.  My forays into BI have always been stalled because I wasn't able to really relate to the data; your approach is something I've been churning around in my head for a while.  I'll be looking forward to your posts.

Out here on the west coast, the Giants are battling through their trials, keeping above .500 and looking to sweep the Rockies today.  The "Brandons" (Belt and Crawford) are key contributors.

My mom and brother were at the Sunday game which ended in an 11 inning walk off by old man Pence, right after the Padres had gone ahead in their half.  Fun stuff.

Well, I did post another BI article -- this one talks about an intro to data warehousing.  Give it a read and tell me what you think (and if anyone knows anything about data warehouses, tell me whether or not what I wrote is accurate).  Alas, this one doesn't revolve around baseball, although I do use a baseball example to talk about facts and dimensions.
