• It really depends on what you're looking for. For example, Red Gate SQL Backup goes above and beyond the CMS when dealing with backups across multiple servers, especially in how it shows which servers have been backed up, when, and your ability to quickly and easily adjust their schedules. However, it's not much more than that. So yes, more functionality, but not across the board. I'm pretty sure SQL Sentry has a product that does a bunch around scheduling stuff way better than CMS. But again, it's not going to be across the board better. More like targeted functionality improvements.
