It might take a while.The SQL Server team has the tendency lately to release more and more cumulative updates, and less service packs.
For SQL Server 2012, there's still only sp1.
Waiting for the service pack to migrate though is a bit old-fashioned 😉
+1 on this even though I have old fashioned tendencies myself.
If I was you and I was going through a thorough testing cycle I would apply the CU previous to the latest one (unless the latest CU fixes a problem I know I have). This is a pretty safe stance.
