Interesting question.

I found the wrong answer in BOL: (the SQL server 2014 version of) Overview of AlwaysOn Availability Groups (SQL Server) states that 2014 supports only 4 secondary replicas (plus 1 primary replica) for an always on availablility group.

I guess I shouldn't believe BOL without first looking to see if it contradicts itself.
