I'd be interested in taking this. I could write a short piece on viewing statistics and illustrating an example or two as to how they are used.

From there a quick example on the effects of outdated statistics, and then build a basic script for use in updating statistics regularly so this is never a major problem.

This could fit into one article, though if you think this sounds hefty, I could split the maintenance into another---but logically I think this all makes sense to be in one place.
