Home Forums SQL Server 2008 T-SQL (SS2K8) How to split the date format into month with year? RE: How to split the date format into month with year?

    Assuming this is still true: billed_date datetime

    right('0' + cast(month(billed_date) as varchar(2)),2) + '-' + cast(year(billed_date) as varchar(4))

    ... or...

    SELECT RIGHT(CONVERT(CHAR(10),GETDATE(),105),7)

    --Jeff Moden

    RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
    First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
    ________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

    Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
