When you say you replaced the PMDB, you recreated a new one ? If so you have lost all your users and need to log in with the admin account and add your users. If you have just lost your connection to the PMDB when you try and connect to PMDB via the P6 application where the database name is click there and it will allow you to either edit your existing connection or add a new one.
