SSRS history

  • The reports being run by SSRS are not being logged in the ExecutionLog table correctly any more. It used to log every report execution but approx three months ago it stopped logging all reports and now only logs those reports run by scheduled job. I have checked the equivalent non production installation whoch should be configured the same but it works fine. I assume that some miscreant has made a change that has stopped it working, but now I need to find the change and make it go again. I have checked everything that I can think of but have come up blank 🙁 Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

    Cheers,

I don't have a 2005 box to check, but take a look at this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159110(v=sql.90).aspx

You can turn report execution logging on or off by selecting options in Report Manager on the Site Settings page. On this page, you can also specify how long you want to keep log entries. By default, this value is 60 days. Entries that exceed this date are removed at 2:00 A.M. every day.

Though when I look at the Site Settings on my SSRS 2008 R2 box, nothing jumps out at me where you'd specify this.

    Good luck,

  • Hi Robert,

Thanks for your reply. After much digging (and cursing) I have found out what is going on. A number of months ago someone migrated SSRS to a new SQL 2008 server (excluding a handful of scheduled reports and my RS history database and scripts). So now the RS history is only reporting on the few scheudled reports left behind and is blissfully ignorant of what's going on on the new server. I need to re-create my RS history setup and point the reports to the new server, but there is now a sizable hole in the history data 🙁

    Cheers,

    Blair
