• I think the challenge is a pretty appropriate challenge. A lot of IT folks are introverts and it isn't necessarily easy for a lot of people to walk up to people they don't know.

    That is the cool thing about #sqlfamily. At SQL Saturdays, UG meetings, on twitter or at some of the larger conferences, it is very hard to not meet 3 people you don't know. You almost have to go out of your way to try to not meet somebody new. So the real obstacle to this challenge (imho) is to get yourself out to an event.

    Even if you don't meet somebody at an event, the attendance will be well worth it. Then maybe you can meet 3 people at the next event after that once you start to feel your way into the #sqlfamily comfort zone.

    It is a great means to find job opportunities, socialize and to either get help or give help solving problems.
