I have excel pivot table where i can click on pivot cell and it opens another sheet containing detail data. Can i do same thing with matrix or tablix control? I would appreciate if someone can guide me.

The way to do this in reporting services is...
- create a report that has the details
- in the matrix, add an action to the cell that you want to drill down on (in BIDS, right click on the text box, select textbox properties and then go to "Actions"). In the action, Select "go to report" and then fill in the relevant details

You could consider the detail report to be a sub report. In reality, it is simply another report that will be displayed when you click on the cell in your matrix report (similar to clicking on a link on a web page - the browser will take you to the web page in that link)
