What about a simple DATEADD(wk, -1, GETDATE()) and change the value to bee substracted?
Or use DATEADD(wk, -6, GETDATE()) AND DATENAME(dw, date_needed) = 'Tuesday'?
It's an idea. You could also use DATEPART.
