so all you need to do is ensure that safety is set to full, remove the witness temporarily if you are using one and pause the mirror session. Keep an eye on the principal transaction log size.

The storage admins should be able to mirror the present LUN to the new storage and break this mirror at the last moment once it is synchronised on both storage systems.

Just resume the SQL mirror session once the mirror instance is back online
