I would guess many people could, but probably not quickly. I do like that we teach our kids to do math, but move them along quickly to using calculators and computers. That's the way the world has moved. They know the basics, but if there is a pinch, they can go backwards.

I'd like to see more places practice some of these fallbacks and ensure people understand what is happening inside the computer. Then they at least have an idea, even if they are rusty, if there is an issue.
