Isn't there a job site where the job advertisers list their salary ranges? You're currently in a different state? If not then you could gauge it based on your current salary (nobody wants a sideways/backwards step).

For example in the UK I search the job sites & see that a mid-level DBA generally earns $55,000-$70,000 with seniors earning up to $85,000 outside of the capital.

I guess you can search similar for your area & decide an acceptable salary from that.
