Colin is correct. HA and DR are two totally different animals. It is my opinion that you should first discuss with management and business units to determine their acceptable amount of data loss and time-to-restore parameters, and all others that are associated. Normally, these would then determine the HA and DR course that should be chosen. Can't create a plan until you know what you are trying to achieve, as different tools in the toolbelt are used for different requirements.
