Access???

  • I'm getting the access denied error. I went into DCOM config and I don't see anything near "Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services 11.0" listed. I went to try and install it thinking I forgot it, but according to the SQL installer, SSIS is installed. Version is 2008 R2. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: Crap this should have gone in the Integration Services forum... Oh well.

  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services 11.0 is SQL 2012.

I take it your looking at the MSDN article on Connecting to a Remote Integration Services Server?

If so it looks like you've not changed the page to the correct version of SQL for what your running.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337083%28v=sql.105%29.aspx

  • Still getting access denied, and yes I restarted services.

  • Any firewalls between the clients and the servers? Are you connecting to a cluster?

  • No cluster, and I'm trying to connect locally.

Do I need to configure something in the SQL Server Configuration Manager?

  • Can you post a screen shot of the error?

I've never had this issue so would be good to see what you see in case its something else other than DCOM.

  • It's just an access denied error. "Connecting to the Integration Services service on this computer "servernamecensored" failed with the following error: Access is denied."

  • Have you tried this one

Might be that 2008 R2 creates the MsDTSServer100 DCOM object and 2008 creates the MsDTSServer as I have both in my DCOM as I have both versions of SQL installed.

  • I did all that, including the DCOM local group. What's even stranger is that the AD group I am part of is local admin on this server. I'm missing something really stupid.

  • Strange then as if your an admin you shouldn't need to mess with DCOM.

Will keep digging once I have a spare moment here and there but as never running into this issue myself unsure on the next steps to take.

  • I will keep digging too on my end. Thanks for your help.
