SSMS Job Creation/Editing Error

  • My SQL Server Version is given below (Production Environment).

    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1617.0 (X64) Apr 22 2011 19:23:43 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Web Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack

    Issue:

When I create or Edit Job I am getting a error Message like

Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {AA40D1D6-CAEF-4A56-B9BB-

D0D3DC976BA2} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: c001f011. (Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS)

so I cannot edit or Create Job. Please give me a solution for this. and Let me know why this is happend.

  • Has this always happened or just recently started? I have seem COM errors popup in SSMS before and the only work-around I have found is to close and reopen SSMS to resolve the error. It is like it gets an error instantiating a class so every time after that it will fail as well, so closing and reopening the app seems to be the only way to clear it.

  • It is happened recently... Before that i could able to create jobs and all...

now when i open the SSMS and in the 1st attempt i can edit/create job.. when i try for the next time editing/creating this error happens..

  • Is there any permanent solution for this issue?

  • Not that I have seen, but then again I do not see it THAT often. Curious, is the version of SSMS the same version/service pack as the SQL instance you are connecting to?

  • I used to get this a lot - same work around - close SSMS & reopen.

Patching SSMS to SP1 or 2 seemed to have stopped it happening.
