If you look to the left side of the screen there is a link there labeled "Stairways." That is a series of lesson plans on various aspects of becoming a DBA. That's a great place to start locally.After that, I have written a few chapters in a book called Beginning SQL Server Administration that might help.
From there, you just need to do the work. Volunteer at a local non-profit or school to build a database for them.
Hi, I have been looking at the stairways but I do not see a link which tells me the daily jobs of a DBA i.e. I know the basics of design but I am after something intermediate for a day to day job of a DBA such as backups, rerestore, mirroing, etc...
Can you point me to the right links please?
