access denied is usually because the account the SQL service is running from doesn't have access to teh specific folder the mdf exists in;

for example, if the mdf is on YOUR desktop , ie c:\Users\seyoumblen\Desktop ,

most other users do not have access to it ; all the folders specific to you have very limited permissions.

move the file to a more public folder, like c:\Data or something instead.
