Before I again attempt to retype my original message for the fourth time... I will drop this suggestion. could you please extend the amount of time I have to type a post. Many times I'll be typing a post and mid way through I'll discover another possible solution to try so I don't have to post the thread. I'll go off and try that possibility and come back to add I've already tried that and what results I've gotten. Well needless to say I've had some post windows open for decent durations and when I go to either preview or post I get an empty new topic window instead of the message I've spent the last 25 minutes cleverly crafting.
Please either extend the timeout or make the window post back to itself when clicking on preview or submit after the timeout window, or both. Sorry if this sounds like i'm frustrated but I've had a killer problem I've been trying to elaborate on for the past 1:20 and I've lost the post 3 times now.
I'm only mad because I like this forum so much as people are helpful here. I do not want to search for another help forum nor do I believe there is another out there with this caliber of community.

Agree with you Joseph - same has happened to me several times, on the longer, more time-consuming posts of course. There must be a way round this that doesn't just discard what you've typed in.
If you haven't even tried to resolve your issue, please don't expect the hard-working volunteers here to waste their time providing links to answers which you could easily have found yourself.

I've had the problem too. I workaround it by selecting my answer and copy-to-clipboard before hitting submit. That way if something goes wrong, I can refresh the original post and start the reply again. Just past in the answer and submit. Annoying tho.

I've gotten to the point of typing my questions in notepad and then submitting them.

Yes: Notepad (or in my case, Textpad) are the way to go. You can think and type at your own rate.
