• Please bear in mind that while SQL Server supports UCS-2 and UTF-16 in the NCHAR & NVARCHAR data types, UTF-8 is currently not supported.

    MS have advised they are looking at this, but no conclusive answer to date.

    consider converting the UTF-8 character columns to UCS-2 for inserting into SQL Server
