It's not a nasty comment at all. I just don't understand the point of wishing people a Happy Memorial Day. What is so happy about it? Brave young people have given their lives in war and their families are mourning their loss. What's so happy about that?
Not much, but I think the spirit is to give thanks and love to those people who sacrificied themselves for the good of the people (I'm canadian so I can't say for sure).
