We have a switch rebooted itself overnight. One of the SQL servers shows : The log for database 'tempdb' is not available.
What should I do? Shall I restart the SQL service? will that work?
Thanks

where you drives that the databases resided on, paritcular tempdb on a SAN that was connected through the switch?
Can you get to the tempdb log file itself on the server?

Right. A recycle of SQL Services will rebuild TempDB and it's log. But like Shawn said, you need to ensure the underlying file or file path for the tempdb log is OK as a 'first diagnostic' effort. Once the physical/logic disk situation is corrected, then you can work on repairing tempdb/recycling.
