Rendering problem of SSRS reports on mobile devices

  • Dear Experts,

we have created a set of reports to be viewed on a mobile device, currently equipped with WindowsMobile2003.

Connecting from that device to the server is succesfull, the list of reports on the report server homepage is browsable. You have to scroll but all information is rendered properly.

After selecting a report you can fill in the selections, but after clicking the View Report button the pagecontrols consume all the available space on the screen (240x320 pics) and there is no space anymore for the actual data of the report. The page controls are rendered below each other.

We added three images to show the problem. Image1 shows the screen of the report manager. Image3 the screen after selecting the first item and Image4 the results after clicking the View Report button.

Is there a way to get these reports to render to a more usable state other then using a more sophisticated device?

  • I am not sure about it but see if the below link helps you -

  • Hello Sacheen,

after a lot of testing we discovered the ReportServer access to be working all right for us.

Directly accessing the Report manager is a bad practice for Windows 6.5 Professional PDA's.

It took so long because we had to wait for a device with de requiered platform to test the solution.

    Thanks for the help.

  • I ran the SSRS team for over 8 years. I continue to work with the team at Microsoft and agree that device and browser support continues to be a serious limitation. I developed a solution for this providing a full HTML5 report viewing and report manager. It works great stand alone or as a set of controls for you project. You can see API and UI on http://www.forerunnersw.com
