SQL 2008 Cluster installation failure

  • Hi Team, I am installing SQL Server 2008(32 bit Enterprise Edition) Cluster on on Widows 2003 with SP2(32 bit),

it consists of two nodes, I have started installation on node1 in the feature selection below there is a shared feature directory i am getting below error

"The shared directory (or command line option INSTALLSQLSHAREDDIR) value for a cluster installation cannot be a directory on a shared disk"

I have attached the screen shot also, Please check

  • Your using a shared drive. Try to use a local disk on the physcial server.

  • to add to the previous reply, at this point in the installation you are not specifying the shared drives the SQL server instance will use. Specify a local for the shared features and further on in the install specify the group and shared disk resources the instance itself will use
