Msg vs Message

  • Hi everyone,

We have seen recently (and in the past) error messages from SQL Server having this format:

    Message 515, niveau 16, état 2, serveur GDB1, ligne 1

    Instead of this format:

    Msg 515, Level 16, State 2, Server GDB1, Line 1

Where can I find documentation on this (the behavior) and how we can control it?

    Best Regards.

    Carl

  • it could be because of windows patch or sql server patch/Service pack

I work only to learn Sql Server...though my company pays me for getting their stuff done;-)

  • Kinda looks like some how your 'language' setting got changed to something

other than 'english'.......Do a right click on the database name, then properties and

    check your settings.

  • Hello Bhuvnesh,

    we will investigate that.

    Regards.

  • We finally found that some french SQL Server 2008 clients have been install on the network. This was causing the french error message.

For those of you interested to see this feature enhanced see the following enhance request:

    Best regards,

    Carl
